Polypyrrole nanostructures modified with mono- and bimetallic nanoparticles for photocatalytic H2 generation

Xiaojiao Yuan, Diana Dragoe, Patricia Beaunier, Daniel Bahena Uribe, Laurence Ramos, Maria Guadalupe Méndez-Medrano, Hynd Remita

Conjugated polymer polypyrrole nanostructures modified with bimetallic (Pt–Ni) nanoparticles are very active for hydrogen generation and a synergetic effect is obtained by alloying Pt with Ni.

The Mosaic Structure of Zeolite Crystals

Zhengxing Qin, Georgian Melinte, Jean-Pierre Gilson, Maguy Jaber, Krassimir Bozhilov, Philippe Boullay, Svetlana Mintova, Ovidiu Ersen, Valentin Valtchev

Zeolites are widely used in many commercial processes, mostly as catalysts or adsorbents. Understanding their intimate structure at the nanoscale is the key to control their properties and design the best materials for their ever increasing uses. Herein, we report a new and controllable fluoride…

Bioactive peptides grafted silicone dressings: A simple and specific method

Coline Pinese, Said Jebors, Pierre-Emmanuel Stoebner, Vincent Humblot, Pascal Verdié, Léa Causse, Xavier Garric, Hubert Taillades, Jean Martinez, Ahmad Mehdi, Gilles Subra

The need for bioactive dressings increases with the population aging and the prevalence of chronic diseases. In contrast, there are very few dressings on the market which are designed to display a chosen bioactivity. In this context, we investigated the surface-functionalization of silicone wound…

Non-Hydroxyl Radical Species Production during Dark Air Oxidation of Alluvial Soils

Elora Bourbon, Frédéric Averseng, Pierre Le Pape, Thierry Allard, Fulvia Baratelli, Fabrice Alliot, Alexandre Gélabert, Valentine Rollot, Elodie Guigon, Jessica Brest, Sylvie Nélieu, Guillaume Morin

Natural environments subjected to hydrologically-driven redox fluctuations are regarded as propitious to contaminant degradation since they favor cyclic oxygenation of Fe(II)-minerals that produces oxidizing reactive species, such as the hydroxyl radical, OH • . However, the identity of these…
